During the lecture’s active discussion the students learned about particularities of this type of criminal responsibility, international standards of juvenile justice, UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, juvenile justice system in Kazakhstan, comparison of the minimal age of criminal responsibility for the commission of criminal offences established in different countries and Kazakhstan, education of minors in law and legal culture, types of punishments applied towards minors, and others. This guest lecture was especially relevant as it was delivered by a specialist and practitioner with a direct experience of dealing in criminal cases.
